Beom Lee

Beom Lee is Korean Language Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University. 


He specialized in second language learning with multimedia at Teachers Collage, Columbia University. In Korea, he taught philosophy, history, and culture of Korea and English in the Republic of Korea Army as a military officer in education and psychological warfare. 


He also worked for Hyundai Construction and Engineering Company as an assistant project manager. Beom Lee joined Columbia faculty in 2005, has taught Introductory, First Year, Second Year, and Fifth Year Korean, and has developed online Korean language resources for First and Second Year Korean with his colleagues.


Beom Lee has been teaching Korean at the Korean Education Center of New York since 2011.

Jun Choi

Jun Choi received his M.A. in Comparative Linguistics from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. 


His research focused on the verb systems of Korean and Japanese. From 2001 to 2011, he taught Korean at language schools in Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo. 


He has also taught at CUNY, the Fashion Institute of Technology, the Beekman School and the Korea Society, at all levels, from beginning to advanced. 


He currently teaches Korean and Japanese at Montclair State University, the Korean Education Center, New York University and Columbia University.

Soojin Kim

Soojin Kim was born, raised and educated in Seoul, Korea. 


She holds a Ph.D. in Elizabethan literature from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea and lectured on English Literature and language at Hankuk University. 


She also earned a Master’s Degree in Education from University of Portland, Oregon. Soojin conducted research on developing second-language fluency through a classroom strategy of Reader's Theater at University of Portland. 


Her extensive teaching experience includes both English language at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea and Korean language for immersion military programs and New York University in US.

Jiyeon Kim

Jiyeon Kim

With over 10 years of experience teaching Korean to students at all levels, from beginner to advanced, she currently teaches at Columbia University, NYU, and the Korea Society. 


Her teaching philosophy centers on helping students master Korean in a structured way, empowering them to use the language confidently in real-world situations. 


Passionate about sharing the richness of Korean culture and language, she provides an engaging, immersive learning experience that enables students to not only learn the language but also deeply understand the culture behind it.

Haeran Song

Hi, my name is Haeran Song (송혜란), and I have taught English for over 7 years at an elementary school in NYC public schools. 


Then, I started teaching Korean in high school (NYC public school) in 2017. Currently, I am teaching Korean year 3 and AP Korean. 


I received my BA and MA from Stony Brook University and MSEd from Queens College. Since 2020, I have taught Korean 1B at the Korean Education Center of NY. 


I am bilingual and love sharing the Korean language and culture with others.

Michael Huh

Mr. Huh received his B.A. in Linguistics and M.A. in Economics from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea. 


Then he earned his J.D. at Northwestern University, admitted to the New York State Bar and remains in good standing. Mr. Huh has taught Korean at National University of Kyiv, Kyiv, Ukraine, and is currently teaching Korean at Nassau Community College, Garden City, New York.

Eunmee Yoon

Eunmee Yoon

Eunmee Yoon received her Ph.D. in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language from the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. 


She has taught Korean at all levels in a variety of programs both in Korea and the United States, including at the college level. She is currently teaching Korean at Queens College in New York.
