<2023 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees(GKS-G) in New York>
1. Program Objectives
Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea at graduate-level degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.
2. Total Number of Grantees in the USA: 18 candidates, including 4 for Overseas Korean
3. Available Degree Program
o Doctoral Degree, Master's Degree, Teaching Professional, Research Program
4. Eligibility
o Nationality: Applicants and their parents must not hold Korean Citizenship.
o Age: Applicants must be under 40 years of age(born after September 1, 1983).
o Degree Requirements: Applicants must hold or expect to hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree by February 28, 2023.
o Grades: An applicant must maintain the overall grade point of average(CGPA) equivalent to or higher than any ONE of the following;
[2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, 3.23 on a 5.0 scale, or score percentile(80% or above)]
o Health: An applicant must be in good mental and physical health, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.
o Preferences
- An applicant who has attained certified scores in TOPIK for their proficiency in Korean may be given preference.
- Descendents of Korean War veterans will receive an additional 5% of the total marks during the selection reviews.
- Applicants who apply for the majors in the field of Natural Science and Engineering may be given preference.

* Please refer to the attached application guidelines for some other documents for relevant applicants to submit.
** All certificates can be submitted without an Apostilled, regardless of the GKS-G guidelines. However, successful candidates will be obligated to obtain and present Apostilled Certificates after the Embassy of the United States has declared the interview results on March 17th.
*** Applicants must submit 1 set of original application documents and 3 sets of photocopies, identical to the original set.
**** Applicants in the USA should submit the required application documents to the Korean Education Center while referring to the contact information in the USA below.
(Current students refer to the states according to enrolled college/university, and others to the states of residence.)
6. Timeline of Application Procedure
o Application Submission: till March 1 (Wed), 2023
o Send all the required documents in the mail to the Korean Education Center of New York (460 Park Ave. 9FL, New York, NY 10022)

< 2023년도 한국 정부초청 외국인 대학원 장학생(GKS-G) 모집 공고 >
국립국제교육원에서 주관하는 2023년도 한국 정부초청 외국인 대학원 장학생 추천과 관련하여 미국 지역의 선발 관련 사항을 아래와 같이 알려드리오니, 관심있는 분들의 많은 지원을 바랍니다.
1. 목적
o 외국인 학생에게 대한민국의 고등교육기관에서 수학할 기회를 부여 함으로써 국제교육교류를 촉진하고 국가 간 우호증진을 도모하고자 함
2. 모집 인원
o 총 18명(외국인 14명, 입양인 4명, 교원과정 미정, 연구과정 미정)
3. 모집 과정
o (석사과정) 총 3년 (한국어연수 1년 + 학위과정 2년)
o (박사과정) 총 4년 (한국어연수 1년 + 학위과정 3년)
o (연구과정) 총 6개월 또는 1년
4. 지원 자격
o (국적) 지원자는 초청국 국적 소유자, 지원자와 부모 모두 외국 국적을 가진 외국인
o (연령) 40세 미만(1983.9.1. 이후 출생자)
o (학위) 박사과정(석사학위 취득자), 석사과정(학사학위 취득자)
o (성적) 최종학교 전 학년 성적 평균 평점이 기준 이상인 자 또는 동등 이상의 성적이 인정되는 자
* 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, 3.23/5.0 이상인 자
o (우대사항) 한국어능력시험 (TOPIK) 우수자, 이공계 지원자, 한국전쟁참전용사 후손, 사회 경제적 배려 대상자 등
5. 장학금 내역
o 항공료, 등록금, 생활비, 정착지원금, 의료보험료, 연구비, 논문인쇄비, 귀국준비금 등
6. 제출 서류
o (공통) 지원서, 자기소개서, 학업계획서, 추천서(1부), 동의서, 자가건강진단서, 학위증명서 및 성적증명서, 국적 증빙서류(지원자 및 부모) 및 가족관계 증명서류
* 해당자만 제출 : 재외동포 또는 입양 증명서류, 한국국적 이탈확인서, 한국전 참전 증명서류, TOPIK 인증서 원본, 출간된 서적, 논문, 수상내역 등
** 붙임 모집요강을 참고하여 서류를 제출하되 모든 서류는 원본 1부와 복사본 3부를 제출하여야 함
*** 첨부된 가이드라인에도 불구하고 증명서류는 아포스티유 없이 제출하고, 3월 17일 면접심사 합격자에 한해 아포스티유 제출
7. 제출 기한 및 방법
o 제출 기한 : 2023.3.1.(수) (뉴욕 지역 제출 기한으로 총영사관별로 다를 수 있음)
o 제출 방법 : 아래 미국 지역 연락처 및 관할 지역을 참조하여 주소지 관할 한국교육원 또는 한국총영사관으로 제출

미국 외 거주자 : 대사관/워싱턴한국교육원 제출이 원칙, 본인 편리에 따라 공관/교육원 선택 지원 가능

o 지원시 필수 사항을 숙지하여 자격여부 및 서류등이 누락되지 않도록 유의. 서류 미비자는 심사대상에서 제외됨
