대한민국 정부가 지원하고 주미대사관이 운영하는 재미한인장학기금(The Korean Honor Scholarship)의 2022년도 장학생을 선발합니다. 재미한인장학기금은 1981년 한미수교 100주년을 기념하기 위하여 대한민국 정부가 출연한 기금으로 시작하여 매년 미국과 캐나다지역의 우수한 동포대학(원)생과 한국유학생에게 장학금을 지급함으로써 동포 및 글로벌사회의 장래 지도자를 육성하는 것을 목적으로 합니다. 관심 있는 분들의 많은 신청 바랍니다.
1. 선발 주요 일정
신청서 접수 : 4월 18(월)~ 6월 17(금) ※ 마감일자우편소인 유효
주뉴욕총영사관 뉴욕한국교육원 심사 : 6월20(월)~ 7월1일(금)
주미한국대사관 중앙심사 : 7월29(금)
장학금 지급 : 10월 4(화) 이후) ※ 실제 수령일은 개인별로 차이
2. 장학금액
장학생 1인당 1,000불 (1년간)
3. 선발 예정 인원 : 미국 지역 16명 내외
일반 장학생: 12명 내외
예능계 장학생 : 2명 내외
특수 (입양 및 장애인 학생) 장학생: 2명 내외 (입양한인 포함)
4. 신청자격
신청일기준 정규 4년제대학 및 대학원에서 full-time으로학위과정을 이수 중인 한인(Korean 또는 Korean-American)학생
최근 1년간 GPA 3.0이상 (단, GPA는 4.0 기준)
대학의 학부 및 대학원 재학중 KHS 장학금수혜사실이 없는자

2022 THE KOREAN HONOR SCHOLARSHIP
The Korean Honor Scholarship was first established in 1981 with the gift fund of one million US dollars donated by the government of the Republic of Korea to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between Korea and the U. S. A. The scholarship is awarded to encourage outstanding students who have Korean heritage to achieve their highest academic performance and develop leadership qualities for their future professional careers in the global society. Students who are interested in applying the KHS download the application form and the guideline, and submit it to the Korean Education Center of New York.
Application period: April 18 ~ June 17, 2022
First round evaluation at regional consular offices: June 20 ~ July 1, 2022
Final round evaluation by Central Selection Committee: July 29, 2022
Scholarship Award presentation: After October 4, 2022
The amount of scholarships: Honor Scholarship: $1,000 (16 students or so)
