Greetings

The Korean Education Center in New York will do its utmost to support overseas Koreans in taking pride in their Korean identity and to promote Korean education around the world.

Hello,

Thank you for visiting the website of the Korean Education Center in New York.

The Republic of Korea, built on remarkable growth, has established itself as one of the world’s leading nations. In particular, Korea’s success in nurturing talented individuals through education—thereby driving national and industrial development—has already been recognized worldwide.

In line with these efforts, Korean Education Centers are being established in countries around the world to support the development of human resources overseas as well. Pursuant to the *Act on the Support of Education for Overseas Koreans*, Korean Education Centers promote initiatives such as providing support for Korean language textbooks, expanding Korean language programs in U.S. middle and high schools, encouraging U.S. students to study in Korea, and strengthening global cooperation in education.

Since its opening in 1981, the Korean Education Center in New York has worked to provide Korean language education as well as instruction to Korean culture and history for overseas Koreans. At the same time, we have carried out a variety of activities to introduce Korea and the Korean language to non-Koreans. We serve five states—New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania—and carry out a range of educational projects, including support for community-based Korean schools and expanding Korean language classes in U.S. elementary, middle, and high schools. We also operate diverse programs for Korean Americans and their children.

Going forward, the Korean Education Center in New York will continue to promote the value of Korean education around the world and will do its utmost to support overseas Koreans in taking pride in their Korean identity. We will also continue working to further strengthen educational exchanges and cooperation between Korea and the United States.

Thank you.
